Happy Leap DayI realized today that there are 366 days this year. What does this mean? Should I change the name of the project or take a day off?

PatternsI know that some of you are going to ask: "why are you posting a picture of someone's chest?" The answer: "I'm not sure. I just like it." I like the patterns in her shirt, the neckline, the way her hair falls, the blurry foreground and background... I could go on... It was just one of those moments where my camera just saw an image and took it. Almost on it's own.
I'm very interested in what you all think. Let me know! ...Meaning, if you hate it (or love it), I want to know. ...Please?

SaraiThis is Sarai (my inspiration for Day 152). We went shooting on 25th Street tonight for our photography class and she was the only person that would model (not counting the Crazy's). So Sarai, if you are reading this, we MUST go on an actual shoot so that I can take some real pictures of you. Bring your calendar to the next class. :-)
If you are interested in the rest of the shoot (including the Crazy's...or, more correctly, one of the Crazy's), click here and look to your heart's content.

My Favorite ShowMy favorite show of the year at work is the one we do without the Utah Symphony or Ballet West (though I do love the Symphony and the Ballet). It's a show called A Broadway Valentine and it's starring my friends. Left to right is Katie Hill (she's new this year and I don't know her), Little Danny Beck (who I've mentioned before and his website is in my list to the right, check him out and buy his CD that will be released soon...we hope), Liz Hansen (who is sweet as can be and a competitive Cowboy Shooter to boot), J. Michael Bailey (who melted me in to a puddle tonight with his version of I'd Rather be Sailing) and Ms. Mary Driggs (who is incomparable and I am at a loss for words).

My Favorite MugI shot a bunch...in fact 83 pictures today that I HATED. So when I got home tonight I thought about an email that my new photo friend Dale sent me today and went hunting in my kitchen for something to shoot. I liked the contrasting colors of this mug and saucer so I put them in the sink (the best lighting in the house at 11:00 p.m.) and got this. Trust me, it's better than what I shot earlier. :-)

The China NiteLara and Dale inspired me. I actually went and shot a bunch of pics at The China Nite yesterday afternoon, but ended up with shots I wanted to use at my photography class last night instead. SO, I went back today after work and reshot the happy China Nite man. Looking in the windows of this building, it looks pretty gutted and I'm afraid that it's going to be torn down soon. It'll be a sad day.

I'm taking a photography class, and this week we're working on landscapes (which as we all know, I suck at). I'm trying though! I went looking for one today and I didn't exactly find a landscape, I found a skyscape.
I know exactly what the teacher is going to say about this photo. "You have several different pictures within this picture." My response? "Well, that's what I like about it." :-)

DavinaTonight I'm all about "free advertising." We had a camera club meeting tonight and one of my favorite photographers to "blog stalk" came to speak to us. It was really great listening to her and learning from her experience. If you haven't yet, check her website out davinafear.com or she has a blog that is really great too.
Anyway, she brought her business cards in very cute container that I just had to snap...actually, I was told to snap, but it wasn't hard. :-)

A Picture of a Picture
Just got back from my first official art gallery "opening." Granted, I'm only one of over a hundred on display, but my name is on the wall and everything. It feels good.
I wanted to post a picture of Johnny, but she wouldn't let me. Ah well.
Johnny posted her own picture here. Check it out, she's really good!
