Day 141

DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS????
Remember back in December when I said it was time to buy a MAC?  Well, I did it.  I know it doesn't seem like too long to you, but for me it's been an eternity.  At long last I can post EVERYDAY!!!  I was completely without computer at home for a month and a half and I finally saved enough money (thanks to a little thing called a tax-return) to buy the computer that I really needed.

So, YAY no more days with no posts, or driving to work or the parent's house just to post a stupid picture.  I'M FREE! :-)

Day 140

An (almost) blank canvas
Remember when I said that I'd document my parent's renovation? Well, this is the second photo in that series. Demo is done and the electrician has been here, so it's almost time to dry wall. If you have been to my parent's house you can tell how drastic this transformation is going to be. In this photo I'm standing in the kitchen where the sink used to be, click here for a photo coming from the opposite direction.

I'll come back in a few weeks and update. This "kitchen" is going to be gorgeous!

Day 138

A Paper Storm
There was a big old storm today, but this is all I could capture. Ah well, next time.

Day 134

Sundance

Sorry I'm a bit late posting. Tonight (last night) was quite a night and I didn't get a chance to get to a computer.

Good news though, one of my photos was accepted in to the Black & White Competition at the Eccles Community Arts Center. The exibit runs February 1st through March 29th so if you're in town or are going to be, come and check it out.

p.s. One of Johnny's photos was accepted as well...YAY Johnny!

Believe it or not Gracie and I were actually having fun tonight. :-)

Day 130

The Linoleum that will Never Die
This Christmas my Dad gave my Mom the gift she's always wanted...her "Dream Kitchen." Well yesterday was demo day and when they pulled up the kitchen floor, this is what appeared. It's the hideous linoleum of my childhood. They spent all day yesterday trying to pry it up from the floor boards and some of it just wouldn't budge. Better luck next time boys. :-)

This should be a fun project to document. I'll keep you informed.

Day 120

My Rolodex

The answer to your question, is YES...people still use these.

This is my homage to Lara. After about 30 pictures that were...well, crap...she said to me. "Just do what I do and find something and take a really close shot of it." She's MUCH better at it than I am, but I'm learning.

Day 119

"Banistometer"

Over Christmas my brother-in-law called my parent's back porch railing the "banistometer," because every time we wanted to know how much show had fallen we'd look out the back window at the banister.

Well, today makes Christmas look like a light summer shower. I worked until noon and Lara and I decided to call it a day. Instead of going home to Layton, I decided to drive the shorter distance to my parents house. My Dad and I measured 14 inches on the banister and 17 inches on the porch. CRAZY!

Day 118

The Bag that doubles as a Political Statement

As promised, here is a photo of my purse that doubles as a political statement. It is seriously (and obviously) the funniest Christmas present I received this year...well, any year really. Matt & Johnny kind of kick @$&!

You can find the comic it came from at goats.com, as well as t-shirts, bags and bumperstickers.

Day 115

State Capitol
Johnny & I went shooting again today and my car just kind of drove us to the State Capitol Building in Salt Lake. It turned out to be great because I wasn't really in the mood to shoot people or nature today, AND it fulfills the PhotoHunt of the week...okay, it's kind of a stretch for "new," but it's newly renovated so it'll do.

The rest of the good shots are in the "graveyard."

Day 114

Seat Belt Recycling Program

My sister gave me this purse made of seat belts for Christmas. Cute, hu? I thought I'd use it for my "New" photo hunt pic.

Day 112

Comfort Food

It was a long first day back at work. Tortilla Soup was just what I needed. Mmmm...
