Day 231

Spring Storm
You know what I love about Spring?  Most of the time the skies are as beautiful as the flowers.

Day 230

Bluebells?
I planned on shooting Tulips ... again, but found what I thought were Bluebells instead.  But when I looked them up, these didn't look like Bluebells.  I'm pretty sure you can guess my question, any thoughts?

Whatever they are, I like 'em!  Have I mentioned how much I love spring flowers?

Day 229

Waiting for the Train
On Saturday something new came to the Wasatch Front, something that the citizens in the towns (that are not in Salt Lake County) along the mountain range have been waiting YEARS for... MASS TRANSIT THAT HAS BECOME MORE EFFICIENT. I spent some time as part of the masses tonight and this is what I saw. Lots of families out to see Utah's new toy.

**I had to make some corrections to this text. The red text was added on May 1st following a very compelling argument that was made in the comments of this post. Thanks "Politically Correct Dorky Peeps!"**

Day 228

Bonding Time
I come from a family with 7 children. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters and I get along with all of them spectacularly. But there are two little "words" that bring us (well, all but one of us) together better than just about anything else... U2. Tonight my brother "debuted" his HDTV Surround Sound Entertainment System with the incomparable Rattle & Hum. It was pretty amazing.

And don't worry about my brother who doesn't like the greatest band in the world, we love him anyway. ;-)

Day 227

One Big Fish
I was in Logan today and we passed what looked like a giant mosquito.  Wrong!  Not a giant mosquito, a giant fishing fly.  Wanna see the whole thing?  Click here.

Day 226

Days Gone By
I remember being a little girl and going to this Drive-in Movie theatre. Of course I never made it through the movie, but it didn't matter we were all ready for bed before we went...my parents thought ahead.

Who knows how long the sign will last, now that it's a subdivision. *Sigh*

Day 225

Taylor's Night

My neice Taylor had her 5th grade class program tonight, and since the school gym doesn't have ideal lighting we grabbed this shot after the show. Isn't she cute in her poodle skirt?

Day 224

Ben Lomond
My parents live at the foot of this mountain, and from the beginning of this project my mother has been asking me to take this photograph. While I've taken several shots of it, none of them have turned out right. This one however, I like.

Interesting fact... The man who drew the original logo for Paramount Pictures was from Ogden (my home town) and local legend says he used this mountain as his inspiration. Who knows if it's true, but it's a fun story.

Day 223

The Second Tulip
I wanted to take a poignant photo in honor of EARTH DAY, but I settled on a simple one.

Day 222

Out Your Own Front Door
When is the last time you looked to see what was out your own front door?  Well, this is what I found.

Day 221

A Very Cold Robin
Today looked like April, but it felt like January.  I felt sad for this robin, it was looking toward the light as if to say "Aren't you supposed to bring warmth?"

Day 219

Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree
I know there are plenty of you who do get it, but if you don't get the reference, it's a song from my childhood...and I guess my current-hood.  Anyway, if there seems to be way too many Spring flower photos this week I apologize.  I'm trying to get in as much Spring as I can before it snows again.

Day 218

First Tulip
I love Tulips more than any other flower. This is one of my favorite times of the year because of them. So this is my first tulip and probably not my last.

Day 216

Dinner
Tonight it was either find a picture or make dinner ... so I did both.  :-)

Day 211

Rebecca
a.k.a  Becky

The poor girls I work with are constantly getting picked on.  Luckily for me these girls are not camera shy.

Day 210

The Chaplain
We buried my Uncle today. He was a Marine in every sense of the word. There was a beautiful graveside service performed by the local veterans, and I was deeply touched.

You know, I may not support the war that is going on right now, but I support our troops. So, thanks Uncle Farrell. I'll miss you until we meet again.

Day 209

Mom & Her Sister
This is my Mom and her sister Naomi...if you read my comments, you'll recognize my aunt...sometimes she uses the alias Troy (not sure why...).

Day 207

Spider Emett
Spider-Emett, Spider-Emett, does whatever a Spider-Emett does...

Day 204

Sami
This is Sami.  This girl knows how to work a camera...and it was her first time modeling, so she's a natural.
