Day 229

Waiting for the Train
On Saturday something new came to the Wasatch Front, something that the citizens in the towns (that are not in Salt Lake County) along the mountain range have been waiting YEARS for... MASS TRANSIT THAT HAS BECOME MORE EFFICIENT. I spent some time as part of the masses tonight and this is what I saw. Lots of families out to see Utah's new toy.

**I had to make some corrections to this text. The red text was added on May 1st following a very compelling argument that was made in the comments of this post. Thanks "Politically Correct Dorky Peeps!"**

Hey so how is the new toy? I saw it when I was there for the funeral. It looks pretty cool. It sure will save on gas prices. Speaking of how much is your gas there? Ours is 3.48! UGH

Correction: The Wasatch area has had mass transit for quite sometime now. The Frontrunner just made it a little more efficient.

PS. Sorry to be rude, but we think you kinda hurt the buses' and TRAX's feelings (Oooh, not to mention those vans we call UTA Rideshare).

Thank you Dorky Peeps, it's nice to see someone stand up for the little guy. BUT, have you been on a UTA bus? I don't think they qualify as "mass" transit. AND trax is only in SLC, not the Wasatch Front.

Since I am so not political, I am just going to comment on the pic...

It. Is. Adorable.

We don't think you understand how many people use the buses. If everyone drove their cars to work and school, rush hour traffic would be horrendous and that Legacy Highway that they're building would be useless before it is finished. More importantly, all of South Ogden would have to be parking for all the students of Weber State. Sorry we're too passionate about the definition of "mass transit," since we HAVE been on the bus. If you want more reference on the reality of how rush hour commute in the Wasatch Front works, ask Donny.
PS. The Trax goes all the way to the south end of Salt Lake Valley, which is a sizeable amount of the Wasatch Front.

For the simple fact that your last comment is was and probably will always be the longest and most well researched comment in the history of this blog...YOU WIN!
